SIA Foundation Supports LUM Ray Ewry Center


SIA Foundation Awards $9,607 to LUM

At a recent celebration at Subaru of Indiana Automotive, the SIA Foundation awarded more than $150,881.77 to Indiana nonprofits, including LUM. For the spring cycle, 16 organizations from nine counties received capital grants — including a $9,607 award to Lafayette Urban Ministry.

At the LUM Emergency Shelter, there is a focus on health, cleanliness, accessibility, and safety each and every evening. In 2022, the LUM Healthy Shelter Initiative was launched and a comprehensive plan was put in place to make specific improvements. This $9,607 gift from the SIA Foundation will support this Initiative and will be used to upgrade the internal security camera system in the LUM Ray Ewry Center, benefitting the Emergency Shelter, Winter Warming Station and Youth Programs (After School & 5th Quarter Summer Learning Programs).

Thanks to the associates of SIA and the board members of the SIA Foundation for supporting LUM.

The SIA Foundation was established in October 1997 with a $1 million gift from Subaru of Indiana Automotive. SIA has made subsequent contributions of $4 million, for total contributions of $5 million. The SIA Foundation uses the funding to award grants and matching gifts to nonprofit organizations in Indiana. The SIA Foundation has awarded over $3 million in capital grants.
