Jubilee Christmas – Volunteers Needed
LUM Jubilee Christmas needs lots of volunteer “elves” to bring Christmas to local families and children in need. Volunteer opportunities are as follows:
- Host a Family on Saturday, December 8 (100+ needed)
- Staff our “Donation Center” – Nov. 26 to Dec. 4, 1-5 p.m.
- Sort Toys – December 4 & 6
- Prepare a Mailing to our registered families (Nov. 5)
These opportunities are perfect for GROUPS (student organizations, civic & church groups, families & groups of co-workers).

Emergency Shelter – Volunteers Needed
The LUM Emergency Shelter needs Overnight Shelter Volunteers 365 nights a year from 8 p.m.-7 a.m. or 8 p.m. -midnight. Duties include checking in guests, serving dinner, distributing toiletries and maintaining a welcoming, safe & clean environment.
The LUM Winter Warming Station will open in mid-November and will also need volunteers each night.
MEALS Are Needed Too — If you or your group wishes to prepare a meal for the shelter guests once or regularly, click HERE for more information.

Thanksgiving – Volunteers Needed
Everyone is welcome at the annual LUM Greater Lafayette Interfaith Community Thanksgiving Celebration, and LUM relies on dozens of volunteers like you. There are many opportunities for YOU to serve your community neighbors on Thanksgiving Day (Thursday, Nov. 22) from 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. at Central Presbyterian Church, Lafayette, including…
- Cooking, serving
- Performing
- Hosting, greeting
- Setting up, cleaning up
Donations of food & supplies are also needed. Volunteer and make a difference in your community this Thanksgiving holiday.

After School – Volunteers Needed
The LUM After School Program needs volunteers from 2-6 p.m., every weekday. Volunteers are needed to tutor, read to students, give spelling tests and supervise the children. Volunteer bus drivers are also needed. Volunteer and make a difference in the lives of our students.
