Easy 4-Step Process to Become a LUM ASP Volunteer:

  1. APPLICATION: Complete and submit the online Volunteer APPLICATION — HERE
  2. TRAINING: Read the Training Manual & Code of Conduct. Sign and return to khogue@LUMserve.org. To view, click HERE
  3. APPROVAL: Wait for approval from Program Director
  4. SIGN UP: Sign up to Volunteer online — | August | September | October | November & DecemberJanuary & February | March April & May

{Please note — if you are signing up a group of volunteers, each individual must submit an Application, Take the Training quiz & be approved by the program director prior to the day you with to volunteer.}


Volunteer Job Title: Volunteer Teacher Aide – After School Program 
Days/Hours: Monday – FridayDSC_0110
2:00 – 6:00 p.m.

  • 2 – 3 p.m. – set up (no children)
  • 3 – 5 p.m. – work with children
  • 5 – 6 p.m. – clean up; children waiting for pick up

ASP follows the regular Lafayette School Corporation calendar.

Job Description: Set up for daily program needs. Help children, ages approximately 5-11 years old with their homework. Supervise and play with children.
Requirements: Complete application & training — and get approval from Program Director. Enjoy assisting children in wanting to learn and achieve.

Volunteer with the LUM After School Program

  • Volunteers are needed as Activity Bus Drivers – Learn MORE.
  • Volunteer Teacher Aides are needed who can help afternoon K-5th graders with their homework and reading and supervise their recreation and playtime.
