Lafayette Urban Ministry is excited to report that 1,861 unique individuals and low-income households were assisted so far in 2022. LUM has nurtured and educated children, sheltered families, fed the hungry, supported the legal immigrant, and helped our neighbors experiencing homelessness become more self-sufficient.
A S S I S T A N C E
Financial Assistance
712 families received assistance with rent, utilities and other crises.
Immigration
165 individuals received assistance with the immigration and naturalization process.
ID Clinic
43 individuals assisted in obtaining their birth certificate enabling them to get a legal ID.
Tax Assistance
309 working families were assisted in filing their taxes.
Jubilee Christmas
800 families will be assisted, impacting 1,800 children.
Y O U T H
After School Program
64 children were enrolled and provided academic support, snacks and enrichment in a fun environment each school day from 2 to 6 p.m.
5th Quarter Summer Learning Program
72 children are participating in the summer learning program each weekday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. with reading time, tutoring, math skills work, science labs, recreation, excursions, snacks and lunch.
LUM Camp
77 children (8-10 years old) are signed up so far to participate in a four-day, overnight camp experience in July with fun and education.

Food Pantries
PROTEIN – 292 households received emergency food aid in Lafayette, IN.
WESTSIDE – 70 households received aid in West Lafayette, IN.
Community Thanksgiving Feast
900 free meals will be prepared and served.
H O M E L E S S N E S S
Homeless Services
Emergency Shelter – 343 individuals provided overnight shelter.
Winter Warming Station – 174 individuals used this winter shelter.
Match Program & New Opportunity Fund – 28 guests have been employed & participating in the Match Program, and/or were given assistance in moving into his/her own home through the NOF.
