Consider a Collection Drive This Holiday

| Foods | Toilet Paper | Socks | Dish Detergent |

As the holiday season approaches, consider bringing a meaningful twist to your office festivities. Instead of the usual “gift exchange,” opt for a collection of “needed items” for LUM. Whether it’s after-school snacks for our students, cleaning supplies for the Emergency Shelter or paper & hygiene products for the LUM Food Pantries, each donation makes a difference and is deeply appreciated. Transform your holiday celebrations, both at work and at home, into more meaningful occasions by allowing your family, guests, and colleagues to contribute to local families in need.

Explore the complete LUM Wish List of needed items by clicking HERE. Let’s come together to make this holiday season a time of giving and sharing.

NEEDED ITEMS – LUM needs food, toilet papers, socks, dish detergent, deodorant, disposable razors, paper products, cleaning supplies, snacks, infant products and personal hygiene items. One way that LUM keeps expenditures down is by asking for donations of these “needed items” from the LUM Wish List. You may even purchase the needed items online and have them shipped. Plus, if you use Amazon Smile, LUM gets a percentage of your purchase. Go to smile.amazon.com, select “Lafayette Urban Ministry,” order needed items for the LUM Food Pantries, and LUM will get 0.5% of your eligible purchase. Learn more.

HOST A DRIVE – Coordinate a “collection drive” at your church, organization or business — or at your next event, like a birthday party or business meeting/social. Ask your members, friends, family and colleagues to donate Needed Items from the LUM Wish List, such as food, toilet papers, socks, dish detergent, deodorant, and disposable razors. Check the LUM Wish List and keep it simple. For example, sponsor a Toilet Paper Drive or ask your guests to bring items needed for the LUM Food Pantries (dish soap, canned fish, canned meat, deodorant, diapers, feminine products) — or snacks for the After School Program — or socks for the Emergency Shelter.
