LUM Awarded $69,799 from Local Cities

During the grant cycle that concludes at the end of this month, Lafayette Urban Ministry was awarded $69,799 from the Cities of Lafayette & West Lafayette to provide shelterfood, and supportive services to individuals, families, and households who are experiencing, or at risk of, hunger, eviction, utility disconnect, and/or homelessness. Here is the breakdown of 2022-2023 LUM awards:

  • Community Development Block Grants (HUD funds)
    • Lafayette – $18,799
    • West Lafayette – $10,000
  • Emergency Food and Shelter Program (FEMA funds)
    • Phase 39 – $4,500
    • American Rescue Plan Act – $20,500
  • CARES Act (Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security)
    • Lafayette – $16,000

These funds have had a tremendous positive impact on our community and allowed LUM to continue to enhance the services of the LUM Financial Assistance Program and Emergency Shelter. LUM is grateful for the continued support of and partnership with the City of West Lafayette and the City of Lafayette.
