Start a New Family Tradition This Thanksgiving
Lafayette Urban Ministry offers two fun & meaningful community events on Thanksgiving Day (11/28) for you to start a new family tradition. This year, why not get your family engaged in the LUM Community Thanksgiving Celebration and the Turkey Trot 5K Run by cooking, shopping, running, and/or volunteering? Learn more about each event below.
Community Thanksgiving Dinner – All Are Welcome
Pies and casseroles are need for the annual Greater Lafayette Interfaith Community Thanksgiving Celebration. What a wonderful tradition to start with your family to bake and cook for this special Thanksgiving holiday dinner. Another way to get your family involved is to volunteer before or at the event on Thanksgiving Day. Dozens of volunteers are needed to work in the kitchen, serve food and drinks, greet and assist our guests and, of course, set up, breakdown and clean up.
More than 800 people will be served, and we’d love to have you get involved in some way. You may bake pies, prepare casseroles, donate money, volunteer and donate other food items and supplies. For more information about volunteering and donating, go to lumserve.org/thanksgiving.
