Program Aide
After School Program
This is a part-time (20 hours per week), paid position ($15 per hour), which begins August 5, 2019 and ends May 19, 2020. Program aides will support the youth programs director and supervise children and the program each weekday, including the transportation of the students to the LUM Youth Center. Successful candidates must complete all LUM and State required training and screenings, have experience working with children in a school setting, and have a valid driver’s license.

The LUM Emergency Shelter is seeking applications for the Security Staff. The positions are part-time, paid ($15 per hour).
More details are as follows:
Hours: Daily – 8 p.m. to midnight or midnight to 7 a.m.
Duties:
  • Maintains safety of guests, volunteers and premises; a team environment modeling mutual respect; and a professional and safe environment
  • Ensures compliance with Shelter Rules
  • Monitors arrival, departure, activity within shelter, activity outside within three blocks of the building
  • Disciplines guests who are noncompliant; refers guests to police when necessary
  • Submits written reports of daily activities and incidents

LUM Summer Program Needs Teacher


Full-time | Summer (May 28-Aug 2) | Paid

The LUM 5th Quarter Summer Learning Program is seeking applications for a Teacher.

The position is full-time, paid ($15 per hour). Teachers are needed from May 28 – August 2, Monday – Friday, daily 8-hour shifts (between 6 a.m. – 6 p.m.). Bachelor’s degree in Education is required, and duties include supervising and teaching children, pre-Kindergarten through 6th Grade (enrollment is 40-60).

Position Opening — Interim Food Pantry Director


Interim Director for St. John’s/LUM Food Pantry

St. John’s Episcopal Church in Lafayette, Indiana, is seeking an Interim Director for the St. john’s/LUM Food Pantry. The position requires up to 15 hours of work spread across 3-4 days per week.

Type: Part-time, paid, temporary

Schedule: 15 hours per week; 3-4 days a week; 9-12 month term

Starting Pay: $12.00 per hour with work-related mileage reimbursed at the federal reimbursement rate

Position Requirements:

  • A strong commitment to providing food for diverse, lower-income individuals & families
  • The ability to communicate through writing including email
  • Computer literacy & use of technology
  • Effective time management
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pound cases of food
  • Use of personal vehicle to pick up food supplies
  • The ability to collaborate effectively with clients, St. John’s and LUM staff, volunteers and service agencies

Volunteer experience in faith-based or community organizations and/or familiarity with the St. John’s/LUM Food Pantry is preferred.

The position is an interim position and will last at least six months. The position may continue beyond that time period.
