Six Ways to Support LUM Food Programs

Offer Food, Warmth & Kindness This Winter

The cost of food and fuel is straining local families and food banks, making your support more critical than ever. LUM needs your help to meet the growing demand for food, paper products, and personal hygiene items at the LUM Food Programs, including meals at the LUM Emergency Shelter and Winter Warming Station. Here are six ways you can make a difference:

Donate
Monetary donations are ideal and allow LUM to use funds where they’re needed most.

Provide Needed Items
Donate paper products, cleaning supplies, infant care items, and personal hygiene products. Drop off items at LUM or shop from the LUM Wish List on Amazon to ship directly to us.

Host a Drive
Organize a collection drive at your church, workplace, or next event to collect items for the LUM Food Pantry or Homeless Services.

Volunteer
Join the dedicated team at the LUM Protein Food Pantry each Monday afternoon (noon – 4 p.m.) & Thursday morning (9 a.m. – noon) to set up and assist shoppers.

Volunteer for Food Rescue
Help “rescue” surplus food from local restaurants, bakeries, and grocery stores to share with families in need while reducing food waste.

Serve & Prepare Meals
Prepare a meal for LUM Emergency Shelter guests or assemble to-go meals for the LUM Winter Warming Station. Close to 150 meals are needed each night in the winter.

Your generosity helps ensure our neighbors in need have access to life’s basic necessities this winter — food and meals. Visit the LUM website to learn more and get involved today.
