Meet LUM Staff Members – Jeffrey & Angel

NEW FACES — Part of the LUM Strategic Plan is to “Investigate ways to increase the ethnic diversity of qualified candidates applying for LUM job openings – and acknowledge that it will increase communication (bilingual) as well as authentic cultural connections and empathy.” It is always good news when progress is achieved; and LUM is proud to introduce you to new faces of LUM – Jeffrey Auguste and Angel Valentín (pictured L to R). 

• Jeffrey Auguste has been the director of LUM Homeless Services since 2021. He grew up in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, and currently lives in Lafayette, IN. Jeffrey graduated from Lafayette Jeff High School, is finishing up his degree in Social Work at IUPUI and will complete his Master of Social Work by 2025. Jeffrey is fluent in French, Creole-French, and English.
• Angel Valentín has been the director of the LUM Financial Assistance Program & ID Clinic since November 2022. He grew up in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico and currently lives in West Lafayette. Angel earned a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University.
