15 Years of Service to LUM

Eileen Weiss

Eileen Hession Weiss has had a remarkable career and has made a significant positive impact on the community through her work with Lafayette Urban Ministry and the City of Lafayette.

Eileen has been a part of the LUM staff for more than 15 years. She served as the LUM project manager (1999-2001) and the LUM business manager for four years (2009-2013). Although she retired from LUM in 2013, Eileen continued to process payroll, fill in for the executive director and business manager during their personal time off, and assist with LUM Camp from 2013 to 2017. Eileen coordinated LUM Camp in 2017 and then began her second stint as the LUM business manager in 2018. Over the years, Eileen has directed Jubilee Christmas, Tax Assistance Program, Community Thanksgiving Feast and Hunger Hike. She produced the first LUM Follies and directed the live entertainment each year from 2013 through the LUM 50th Anniversary Celebration in 2022.

Eileen also has been an important part of the City of Lafayette government. She is currently serving on the City Council and served as the City Clerk from 1984-1995. Eileen is a parishioner of The Cathedral of Saint Mary of the Immaculate Conception, was their Director of Music on-and-off from 1983 to 2001, and has sung in their choir since 1964. Eileen enjoys spending time with her grandchildren, Campbell Rose, Max, and Nicole.

After 15 years at LUM, most recently as the Business Manager, Eileen decided to move on in September 2022 and dedicate her time and talent to her family, the City of Lafayette as a member of the City Council, and the many faith and community organizations, with which she is involved. Join us in thanking and congratulating Eileen Weiss with wishes for continued success and happiness.
