Meet Rob – New LUM Maintenance Director
Rob Shook is the new LUM director of maintenance responsible for the upkeep of both LUM buildings, grounds & buses. He has over 20 years of experience in facility management and construction including extensive knowledge of mechanical, electrical & plumbing systems. Rob grew up in West Lafayette and graduated from Harrison High School and Purdue with a degree in organizational leadership & supervision. He still lives in West Lafayette with his wife of 19 years, Gretchen, and their two daughters, Hannah and Abby.
Rob is excited about his new role with Lafayette Urban Ministry because it gives him an opportunity to create safe, reliable and comfortable environments at LUM. He enjoys helping others, problem-solving, finding solutions, and leaving things better than he found them. Rob believes that “when the environment is right — we are better able to think, work, create, collaborate, communicate and serve.” He feels pride in knowing that what he does contributes to a greater purpose. Rob shares, “I am greatly inspired by LUM’s mission. We restore hope when we create safe spaces where people can come for support and healing. I’m grateful to be a part of that.”
In his free time, Rob enjoys golfing, watching football, and traveling to warm places — and most importantly spending time with his family and supporting his daughters in their activities.
LUM is fortunate to have Rob Shook join the team.
