LUM After School Program is in Full Swing

2015-08-18 First Day of School 016 FINAL

Classes started last week in all Indiana schools — which means the LUM After School Program has started as well.

The LUM After School Program provides safe, fun and educationally enriching childcare for local school children each afternoon.

The LUM After School Program serves up to 54 children in grades kindergarten through 5th grade each school day for three hours, enabling their parents to finish their workday.

The ASP students are transported from local elementary schools to LUM where they work on homework, have a nutritious snack, and participate in religious education, crafts, music, and other fun and educational activities. In addition, the group goes on numerous field trips.

The program is staffed by a professionally trained educator and an assistant. Many volunteers and several bus drivers also help.
