Grant Strengthens LUM’s Winter Response
Duke Energy Foundation Awards $5,000 to LUM
During this dangerously cold stretch in Tippecanoe County, Lafayette Urban Ministry provided critical support thanks to a $5,000 rapid-response grant from the Duke Energy Foundation. Part of $55,000 awarded statewide, the grant has helped LUM strengthen emergency services, warming shelters, and food and other essential assistance during the winter storm.
Thanks to this grant, LUM can continue providing food, shelter, and care to hundreds of families and unhoused neighbors affected by the storm.
“While our crews work in the field, we want to make sure community support systems are cared for,” said Stan Pinegar, Duke Energy Indiana President.
“Generous support like this allows us to respond immediately and stand with our neighbors when they need us most,” said Wes Tillett, LUM executive director.
Every dollar strengthens our ability to offer safety, warmth, and hope during the harshest days of winter.
