Winter Warming Station

The LUM Winter Warming Station complements the services of the LUM Emergency Shelter. The Winter Warming Station is located in the LUM Ray Ewry Center (525 N 4th Street, Lafayette) and is open from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m. from November 15 to April 15 (subject to change).
It is used by individuals needing a place in the evening to “warm up.” All are welcome, including those who are not eligible to stay at the LUM Emergency Shelter. It offers an option to be in a safe, secure indoor Warming Station. It also gives individuals an opportunity to learn about other services offered by LUM or other local agencies for which they may be eligible.
Other contingencies plans are in place during stormy weather or if temperatures get dangerously low.
Donate to the LUM Winter Warming Station. Monetary donations are crucial to the operation and success of the LUM services for the homeless.
Volunteer at the Winter Warming Station.
Volunteers are needed 365 evenings a year. The shelter could not operate without the help of hundreds of volunteers. Some volunteers stay overnight, while others donate, prepare and serve meals. Some groups pitch in as clean-up work crews from time to time. Volunteers are needed to enter data two to four hours per week. Learn MORE.
