LUM Winter Shelter – No One Left Out in the Cold at LUM

Since November 15, Lafayette Urban Ministry has kept our most vulnerable neighbors safe, warm, and fed through the Winter Warming Station and Emergency Shelter. Open to all in need, the Winter Warming Station provides a safe overnight space, ready-to-eat meals, and connections to essential services.

This winter, the Winter Warming Station reached or exceeded capacity on several nights. Many guests were referred to overflow cots at LTHC, and staff worked tirelessly to accommodate everyone. Despite the challenges, the team maintained a safe, comfortable, and calming environment, and no one was turned away.

Because of you, more neighbors stayed warm, safe, and connected during the coldest nights. Last year, LUM welcomed 715 guests, totaling 21,864 bed nights. Your support makes this life-saving work possible. Financial gifts, meals, essential supplies, and volunteer time all directly help those experiencing homelessness. Help us keep our neighbors safe this winter. Donateprovide meals, or volunteer today. Together, we can ensure no one is left out in the cold.

This winter, Lafayette Urban Ministry is working tirelessly to protect our neighbors experiencing homelessness—but we can’t do it alone. Your support for LUM Homeless Services provides life-saving resources and hope through the the Winter Warming Station and Emergency Shelter.
