Purdue Rowing Team Supports LUM
Annual Row-A-Thon Benefits Local Families

This past Saturday, the Purdue Rowing Team held its annual Row-A-Thon at the local mall, where each member rowed at least 30,000 meters in three hours on indoor rowing machines. The event raised funds for the LUM Good Samaritan Fund, which provides emergency financial assistance to local individuals and families in need.
If you missed Row-A-Thon, there’s still time to donate. Contributions can be made online (click the button below & mention “Rowathon” in the comments section) or by mail to: Purdue Crew Club, 355 N. Martin Jischke Dr., West Lafayette, IN 47907
Proceeds from the fundraiser will be evenly split between Lafayette Urban Ministry and the Purdue Crew Team, supporting both community outreach and student-athlete development. A special thanks to Purdue Crew President John Lucas, Head Coach Jack Kellmanson, and the entire rowing team and coaching staff for their dedication to this cause.
In 2024, the LUM Good Samaritan Fund provided financial assistance for essential needs, which includes averting eviction, utility disconnects and other crises to 1,168 households, 1,780 times, totaling $115,301. Your support makes a difference — thank you for rowing for a cause.
