LUM 5th Quarter Summer Learning Has Begun

Preparing Students for Academic Success

After a cleaning day and a holiday, the LUM Youth Center is filled with life again with the beginning of the LUM 5th Quarter Summer Learning Program. This program is significant because it offers children from low income families ways to keep pace academically with their peers throughout the summer months. The LUM teaching team create a creative and enriching environment for learning, recreation, and fun. {PICTURED above L to R: Mady, Patrick, Ann, Bre, Kristi & Joan — The LUM Summer Teaching Team.}

This summer 71 students will attend sessions each weekday. They begin their day with a nutritious breakfast snack and reading time. Then it is on to learning math, science, and social studies, taught through both classroom and online study. They enjoy a healthy lunch and more snacks in the afternoon plus lots of playtime. The students also regularly go on local recreation & learning excursions.

Please, consider investing in the success of the LUM 5th Quarter Summer Learning Program! Your support gives a child a better chance for academic success and a better future. If you wish to make a donation go to LUMserve.org/donate or click the button below.
