Levy Restaurants at Purdue Host LUM Families

Levy Cares Dinner – December 20

Levy Restaurants at Purdue hosted the LUM After School Program families, LUM staff, ASP volunteers and LUM Board of Directors for a special holiday dinner.

The holiday feast included a full meal buffet, a carving station, a dessert bar and beverages. During dinner the Purdue Athletic Director, Mike Bobinski, offered thanks to Levy and to Lafayette Urban Ministry for all the good work done for the community. Bobinski also gave each family tickets to an upcoming Purdue Men’s Basketball game. Santa Purdue Pete was also in attendance to the delight of the children as well as their parents.

Another special part of the evening was the Meet the Client presentation with the Hernandez family who were recently assisted by the LUM Immigration Clinic. The highlight of the evening was the Christmas Carols which were sung by the LUM students led by Anita Woods on guitar. After dinner, a prayer was offered by Pastor Lisa Hood of First Baptist Church (Lafayette); and at the end of the evening, LUM opened up the Toy Shop for the children who each were able to pick a stuffed animal, toy and book.

Great meal, entertainment, toys, basketball tickets, dessert and more. It truly was a wonderful holiday experience. Thanks again to our hosts, Levy Restaurants and Purdue University. To view photos from this event, click HERE.
