LUM Youth Programs Need Volunteers
Volunteers needed for the following LUM Youth Programs:
Learn more about these LUM volunteer opportunities below. Please consider volunteering and sharing this post with others.
The LUM 5th Quarter Summer Learning Program has immediate openings for volunteers. Please consider this ministry with school age children as we partner together to close the learning gap for some of our most vulnerable children. Research is clear that children from low socioeconomic backgrounds who have limited opportunities in the summer show a dramatic decline in academic skills which can lead to frustration, alienation, and, even, dropping out of school. 5th Quarter engages children in fun, active learning Monday through Friday and volunteers are needed from 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. We can use adult help every day of the week, at all times of the day! The LUM After School Program is beginning to gear up with some exciting innovations this fall. While we look forward to all the changes, the core of ASP remains the same – providing quality care to children so their parents can work knowing they are safe and loved. Please consider signing up to volunteer for this vital ministry and make a difference in the lives of children. ASP follows the Lafayette School Corporation’s regular calendar. Volunteers are needed from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. every day. We need tutors, story readers, spelling test givers, and any other adult who is willing to help these children. While we need and welcome volunteers from our member churches and community at all times, they are especially important to our program when Purdue is not in session since we do receive a lot of volunteers from the students at Purdue. We are also in need of adults who are willing todrive our buses to pick up the children from school throughout the school year. After School starts August 9; so, don’t hesitate! Please call or email Cindy Haley to volunteer or with any questions (765-423-2691 | email@example.com). For applications, training video, and time slots to sign up, click HERE.
