Campaign for Hoosier Families, an advocacy program under the umbrella organization of LUM, will host a Resource Event to inform more people about CHF — its mission, background information and past activities. Event details are as follows:

  • THIS Friday, April 22
  • 4:30 to 7:30 p.m.
  • LUM Office, 420 N 4th Street, Lafayette

“We encourage people to come to our event and learn more about CHF. CHF aims to advocate policy changes for Hoosier families to maximize the benefits for them, so we hope people know this campaign that stands for their rights,” states Susan Brouillette, the executive director of CHF.

Representatives from CHF and Mount PR will provide a variety of information regarding CHF services and events, and there will be a special consultant to provide attendees with necessary help. A one-hour question and answer session will be held at the end of the event for people interested but have questions for staff members. The session will also include a brief plug about how to advocate policy change for local families. This event is free to the public, free food and drinks will also be provided.

“I went to CHF’s community meeting last year and it was a really impressive experience to me. I learned about useful skills to write to local legislators and social media techniques to advocate through social media platforms. I hope this campaign keep going since I perceive it helps low-income families a lot,” states Christine Lee, Lafayette resident.

CHF is a statewide alliance of faith-based organizations that engages local, state and federal officials on behalf of low-income families and children. Through social justice ministry and advocacy, the CHF mission is to make a difference by improving the circumstances of individuals in need, specifically low-income families and children, while impacting the legislative systems on a larger, statewide scale.

Join local Hoosiers on April 22 to learn information about CHF—a campaign to help advocate policy changes for local families.
