Thanksgiving Recap 2014
The Lafayette Urban Ministry Annual Community Thanksgiving Celebration was a spectacular success. More than 800 meals were served — including 80 turkeys and 200 pies. It takes over two months of planning, over 160 volunteers and more than $10,000 in donations to made it happen.
The meal was a delicious Thanksgiving feast but more importantly it brought together the entire community. Thanks to Susan Brouillette, who directed the event; and Sandra Dukes and James Bishops, who headed up the kitchen crew.
LUM is especially grateful to Central Presbyterian church for use of their facilities as well as Lafayette Mayor Tony Roswarski, West Lafayette Mayor John Dennis (pictured left) & Indiana State Representative Sheila Klinker for serving our guests. A special thanks also to all who donated food and gave financial support. It was a magical community event and a wonderful community Thanksgiving holiday celebration for all.
