LUM Thanksgiving – Community & Hope

LUM Thanksgiving Holiday Events

For LUM, Thanksgiving is more than football and eating too much. It is about being grateful for our blessings by restoring hope to our neighbors in need, especially during this difficult time.

This year LUM is hosting the 36th annual Community Thanksgiving Feast and the Turkey Trot 5K Run. Read below to learn how you can participate, donate, attend, and volunteer at these meaningful Thanksgiving community events.


All are welcome! The 36th annual LUM Community Thanksgiving Feast takes place next Thursday (11/24) from noon to 2 p.m. at Central Presbyterian Church in downtown Lafayette. It will feature a Thanksgiving feast, live music and great company – and it’s free.

If you wish to help, the event still needs donations of the following:

  • Stuffing & Green Bean Casseroles
  • Yams & Cranberry Sauce (Canned)
  • Dinner Rolls
  • Bottled Water
  • Disposable Face Masks

This Thanksgiving Day (11/24), start a new family tradition by participating in the LUM Turkey Trot 5K Run. It’s the most fun & rewarding way start your Thanksgiving holiday. Runners, walkers, families, dogs, strollers, costumes & turkey hats are welcome.

  • Time: 8:30 a.m.
  • Location: Connection Point Church, West Lafayette
  • Fees: $35 Adult; $10 Youth
  • Course: Cattail Trail Loop – Celery Bog Nature Area
