Local Foundations Support LUM Programs

Two Recent Gifts Totaling $19,600

The McAllister Foundation recently awarded the LUM youth programs a $12,100 grant for playground improvements, books & a bookshelf, bus back-up cameras, outdoor lighting and hands-free faucets. As LUM students return to the LUM Ray Ewry Youth Center this week, this gift will have a tremendous positive impact on the LUM youth programs, directly enhancing the students’ experiences. Wes Tillett, LUM executive director is pictured receiving the check from Dave Webb, representing the Alfred J. & Dorothy N. McAllister Foundation.

LUM was nominated by an employee of Briarwood Apartments (Gene B. Glick Company property) and has been awarded a gift of $7,500 from Glick Philanthropies through the Glick Community Relief Fund, a grant program to help local nonprofits continue to respond to those impacted by COVID-19. LUM serves local families & children including residents in the Briarwood Apartments. This gift allows the LUM Good Samaritan Program and Protein Food Pantry to offer rapid relief to more families needing food assistance, rental & utility assistance and other funds for emergency expenses.

LUM is grateful to the McAllister Foundation and Glick Philanthropies for their support of the LUM mission to serve local families and children.
