Get Involved at LUM – LUM Office Volunteers
LUM has a few daytime volunteer opportunities during the work week in the LUM Office. They are as follows:
Volunteer LUM Receptionist is needed each weekday from Noon to 4:30 p.m. — and some weekday mornings. Volunteer Receptionists greet guests, answer phones and complete general clerical duties in the main office of Lafayette Urban Ministry (420 N 4th Street, Lafayette). Bi-weekly commitment is desired. The LUM Emergency Shelter needs Guest Intake Volunteers weekdays from 2 – 4 p.m. for two to ten hours per week. Guest Intake Volunteers meet one-on-one with potential shelter guests to do brief intake interviews, provide passes to the LUM Emergency Shelter, help our guests to reconnect with family, and make referrals to addiction, mental health, employment and housing services. Basic computer, data entry and phone skills are required. A weekly commitment is requested. For more information, click HERE.
