LUM Offers New AA Meeting to Clients

inning tomorrow evening, Lafayette Urban Ministry in partnership with the SURF Center will offer weekly Alcoholics Anonymous meetings at LUM (525 N 4th Street, Lafayette) on Fridays at 8 p.m. — one hour before the LUM Emergency Shelter opens.
According to research approximately 38% of shelter guests suffer from chronic substance abuse. Often individuals enter a detox program and are then placed back into the community with no support or follow-up care — and services for this population are lacking.
The goal is to fill the gap in support and services. AA will
offer the LUM shelter guests an opportunity to achieve and maintain sobriety as well as develop a community based on fellowship and recovery.
The meetings are open to anyone interested. Please join us and share with others.
