LUM Students Celebrate Reading Month
Happy Birthday, Dr. Seuss

During Read Across America Week, LUM transformed a national literacy celebration into a meaningful moment for students in the LUM After School Program. Celebrated each year around the birthday of Dr. Seuss, Read Across America highlights the importance of reading and encourages children to discover the joy found in books.
At LUM, the week served as more than a themed celebration. It was an opportunity to strengthen a culture where reading is valued, supported, and shared. Students came together around stories, building excitement and confidence as readers.
When young people see that reading is celebrated not only in school but also in their community, it reinforces that literacy matters. The energy of the week created positive momentum that extends beyond a few days in March. Through each youth program, LUM continues to nurture curiosity, learning, and a lifelong appreciation for reading.
