Pottery Project Benefits LUM Families
Local Student Brings Hand-Crafted Hope to LUM
Creativity met generosity in Pottery with a Purpose, a student-led fundraiser that made a real impact for Lafayette Urban Ministry. Alaire Oakes, a homeschool senior with Lafayette Scholé Academy, turned her growing love of pottery into an online pottery fair as part of her Senior Capstone Project—and the results have been inspiring.
With handmade pieces created by Alaire and donated by talented local potters, the sale raised $1,135 to support the work of LUM work as a lifeline of help & hope for individuals, children, and families in our community. LUM is grateful to Alaire and every potter who contributed their time and talent, including Beth Brown, Angela Vinson, Scott Frankenberger, Diana May, and Sarah Johnson.
A few beautiful, one-of-a-kind pieces are still available. To check out the collection and purchase your pottery, click the button below. All proceeds go directly to LUM—join this creative act of care and take home something truly special.
