Jubilee Christmas: Compassion in Action

This year’s LUM Jubilee Christmas stood as a powerful testament to compassion, collaboration, and community spirit. Held across 29 locations this past Saturday, the program reached 614 households and brought holiday joy to 1,794 children throughout the community.

Supported by 32 churches, nearly 1,200 dedicated volunteers, and the generosity of countless donors, LUM Jubilee Christmas distributed more than $250,000 in gifts, food, clothing, and books. This extraordinary collective effort made LUM Jubilee Christmas one of the most impactful community-wide initiatives of the year.

The impact of LUM Jubilee Christmas extends far beyond the immediate joy experienced by participating families. By sourcing many gifts and food items locally and distributing $45,000 in gift cards, the program provided meaningful support to the local economy.

In addition, LUM Jubilee Christmas helps reduce the need for emergency rent and utility assistance through LUM in the months following the holiday season. By easing financial strain during a particularly challenging time of year, the program promotes longer-term stability for families and strengthens the community as a whole.

This remarkable celebration was made possible through the collective efforts of many. Special thanks are extended to LUM staff, Host Site Coordinators, participating host sites, and the hundreds of volunteers who generously gave their time and talents.
