LUM Poverty Simulation – Retreat 2025

Lafayette Urban Ministry invites you to join the LUM staff and board members to participate in the United Way Poverty Simulation, a powerful, interactive experience designed to deepen understanding of the challenges faced by low-income families in our community. It’s a simulation, not a game. The goal is to build empathy and strengthen our commitment to serving our community.

8:30 AM – Poverty Simulation | 12:30 PM – Lunch

This immersive experience highlights the struggles many in Tippecanoe County face daily — food insecurity, housing instability, unemployment, and more. Participants will take on roles based on real-life scenarios, working to make ends meet for an entire month in just a few hours.
