State & Local Recognition of LUM 50th Anniversary
Proclamations, Congratulations, and Honors
This year is very special for LUM. It is the 50th Anniversary of Lafayette Urban Ministry becoming a recognized nonprofit serving families, children and individuals in the Greater Lafayette community. In commemoration of this historic milestone, LUM has been the recipient of several prestigious awards. These special proclamations were formally presented at the LUM 50th Anniversary Celebration earlier this month and include the following (in the order they appear in the picture above):
- Sheila J. Klinker, state representative, Indiana General Assembly, “As a member of the 122nd Indiana General Assembly, I would like to acknowledge LUM on their 50 year anniversary with best wishes for success.”
- Tony Roswarski, mayor, City of Lafayette, “Sends congratulations to LUM on your 50th anniversary.”
- Scott Walker, president & CEO, Greater Lafayette Commerce, “Honors & congratulations to LUM as they celebrate their 50th anniversary. May you be rewarded with many more years of success in our community.”
- John R. Dennis, mayor, and Sana G. Booker, city clerk, City of West Lafayette, “Congratulations on your 50th anniversary. Best wishes for success for many years to come.”
- Sadie B. Harper-Scott, President, NAACP Lafayette/West Lafayette Branch, “Congratulations on your outstanding accomplishments. Your work will never go unnoticed. Continuing to change lives and the love shown in the community is always a blessing.”
- Ronnie J. Alting, state senator, Indiana General Assembly, “As a member of the Indiana General Assembly, I would like to acknowledge LUM on this joyous occasion of the 50th anniversary with best wishes for their continued success.”
Lafayette Urban Ministry is humbled and honored by the recognition of these distinguished individuals representing these reputable community and state partners. LUM thanks the City of Lafayette, City of West Lafayette, Greater Lafayette Commerce, Indiana General Assembly, Lafayette/West Lafayette Branch of the NAACP, and Tippecanoe County Commissioners for their support, kind comments and well wishes.
