Transatlantic Fellows Engage with LUM

Benjamin Franklin Summer Institute at Purdue
Recently, more than 50 “transatlantic fellows” and staff from the Benjamin Franklin Transatlantic Fellows Summer Institute at Purdue spent the morning learning about and volunteering at Lafayette Urban Ministry. The Benjamin Franklin Institute is held June 29-July 27 on the West Lafayette campus. The Ben Franklin Institute is directed by Anatoli Rapoport, associate professor of Curriculum & Instruction in the Purdue College of Education.

On this day, the fellows learned about the programs & services offered by LUM and the partnership with member churches on behalf of working families and at-risk children. The students engaged in various projects to clean and enhance LUM inside and outside of both LUM buildings and buses.

LUM extends sincere appreciation to all of the Ben Franklin Institute fellows and staff, especially Professor Rappaport, for their interest in and service to Lafayette Urban Ministry.
