Meet the LUM 5th Quarter Summer Teachers

LUM is excited to introduce the teachers for the 5thQuarter Summer Learning Program. Pictured (from L to R) with Kristi Hogue, LUM youth programs director, the teachers are as follows:

  • Mady Kirts – Mady grew up and still lives in Lafayette. She graduated from Jefferson High School and recently earned her associates degree in Human Services program at Ivy Tech Community College. In the fall, Mady will begin her coursework at IUPUI toward a bachelor’s in social work. She plans to pursue an MSW and eventually working in social work and case management at a nonprofit.
  • Jaunice Williamson – Jaunice is from Chicago and currently lives in Lafayette with her four children, ages 4, 3, 2 & 9 months. Jaunice is currently enrolled in the Early Childhood Education program at Ivy Tech Community College and anticipates graduating in December. After graduation, she plans to start a daycare business.
  • Alyssa Bella – Alyssa is from New Carlisle and currently lives in West Lafayette. She recently earned her bachelor’s in social work from IUPUI. In the fall, Alyssa will be attending New York University to pursue a Master in Social Work. She will be pursuing a career working with children.
  • Tabatha Volpi (not pictured) – Tabby grew up and still lives in Lafayette with her husband, Matthew, and their two children, ages 5 & 7. She graduated from Jefferson High School and earned her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Purdue University in 2013. During the school year, Tabby teaches special education in the Lafayette School Corporation through GLASS.
