Lafayette Urban Ministry receives most of its financial support from individual gifts, member church contributions, and donations from church & civic groups and businesses. Here are the many different ways & options for giving to LUM. {The LUM Federal Tax ID number: 35-1182938.}
USE WHERE NEEDED MOST – CONTRIBUTION
Help make all of LUM’s programs possible by giving generously. Contributions are appreciated at any time of the year. Gifts to the Use Where Needed Most Fund will be used by LUM for “whatever is needed the most.” Thank you!
DESIGNATE GIFT TO A SPECIFIC LUM PROGRAM
Gifts or pledges may be designated to any of LUM’s programs. Make a convenient, safe and secure online donation with your credit card, debit card, or electronic check; and designate a specific program or fund.
MAKE A TRIBUTE GIFT IN SOMEONE’S HONOR
- MEMORIAL – Celebrate the life of a love one
- HONOR – Honor someone
- CELEBRATION – Celebrate a special milestone like a birthday, anniversary, etc.,
- GROUP COLLECTION – Collection items for LUM at a special event
If you provide the name of the designee, an acknowledgment will be sent.
PLEDGE
You may want to consider making your donation in several payments over the course of the year. Using PayPal, you may make your payments monthly, quarterly, semi-annually, or some other schedule that fits your needs.

ESTATE PLANNING – ENDOWMENT
The Endowment for LUM Programs supports local children and families both now and in the future. Gifts made to the endowment are held in perpetuity while income is used to support LUM programs. PRE-AUTHORIZED MONTHLY PAYMENTS
Pre-Authorized Monthly Payments directly from your checking account to LUM are also available. Many donors have found this to be an easy and convenient way to convenient way to contribute to LUM’s work. To make arrangements for PAMP, call the LUM Finance Director (765.423.2691).
FUNDRAISING EVENTS
You may also help LUM by attending all of the LUM fundraising events such as Hunger Hike (food programs), Gala of Hope (Immigration Clinic), and Turkey Trot 5K Run (LUM programs).
MAKE A TRIBUTE GIFT – SPECIAL OCCASION OR MEMORIAL
- MEMORIAL – Celebrate the life of a love one with a Memorial Gift that honors them by helping the lives of others in the community
- HONOR – Honor someone with a tribute gift for a special person.
- CELEBRATION – Celebrate a birthday, anniversary, holiday, graduation, team accomplishment, etc., by giving a gift in their name(s). Say “Merry Christmas” to a loved one by giving a gift in their name.
- GROUP COLLECTION – Suggest to your colleagues at work, church or organization to collection donations for LUM for a special event like a conference, holiday party, etc. Rather than exchanging holiday gifts, considering contribute to a group “office gift” to LUM.
When you make a Tribute Gift, please provide LUM with the name and contact information of the designee, and an appropriate acknowledgment letter will be sent. Thank you.
Jesus said “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” Here at the Lafayette Urban Ministry we take those words seriously. We know that offering homeless people food and shelter and lightening their loads is the first step to helping them build better lives. But we also know it’s only a first step. That’s why LUM offers dozens of innovative programs of service, self-help, and social justice advocacy. But the kind of help provided by LUM doesn’t happen automatically, and it won’t happen without your support. Give generously to help this important work continue.
