LUM Camp—Experiential Music Workshops

Please join us at LUM Camp 2014.

sistersofthunderInteractive live music performances and workshops have always been a part of the LUM Camp curriculum — and this year is no exception. LUM is excited to announce the talent for this year’s LUM Camp which includes Michael Kelsey, circAfrique and a special reunion performance from the Sisters of Thunder.

Sisters of Thunder band has not performed in many years — and have chosen LUM Camp for their michaelkelseyreunion. Featuring CJ Brown, Regina Todd Hicks and Dennis Leas — Sisters of Thunder are a powerhouse Lafayette trio performing original roots music with mixes of folk and gospel infused with “thunder.” Their message of peace, world harmony and respect is a perfect complement to this year’s LUM Camp theme — “Around the World & Back Again!”

If you wish to join us for either musical event, here are the details:

  • Michael Kelsey with opening performance by circAfrique —Tuesday, July 29 at 7 p.m.
  • Sisters of Thunder —Wednesday, July 30 at 7 p.m. (Board Night: LUM board members will be in attendance)

circAfriqueBoth musical workshop will be in the Leadership Development Center at Hanging Rock Christian Assembly Camp (6988 South State Road 263, West Lebanon, Indiana). There will be a “free will” offering at both performances.

LUM Camp 130730 003 (2)

LUM Camp Counselors are invaluable volunteers who spend their whole day with one group of campers. They are role models who assist and motivate campers whether they are trying to learn a new skill or they have concerns about an issue or idea. Throughout the day LUM Volunteer Camp Counselors monitor and participate in the group’s activities and do everything in their power to make each of their campers’ week the most memorable yet. LUM Volunteer Camp Counselors must be fun-loving, patient and genuinely concerned for the welfare and development of young people.
