Meet the New LUM Staff Member – Jen Bushore-Barry
LUM Donor Engagement & Event Coordinator
Lafayette Urban Ministry is excited to welcome Jen Bushore-Barry as the new Donor Engagement & Event Coordinator. Jen lives in Lafayette, Indiana, and grew up in Chesterton, Indiana. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Child Development & Family Studies from Purdue University and a Master of Leadership Development from St. Mary-of-the-Woods College. Jen is a board member of the Rose of Sharon Education Foundation and an alumna of the Beta Chapter of Phi Beta Chi Sorority.
Jen brings with her 30 years of experience in social services, where she has dedicated her career to serving the community. She is a versatile professional, who is driven by service to others and passionate about empowering people to make an impact in the world around them.
In her new role, Jen will be responsible for coordinating events such as We’ve Got Talent, Hunger Hike, and the Turkey Trot 5K Run. She will also assist Steve Mogensen, LUM Donor Engagement Director, while serving LUM’s partners—donors, investors, and volunteers.
Jen shared,
“I see so much potential to grow our presence in the community and to reach more people who need support. Serving this community has been my life’s work, and it feels especially meaningful to be part of LUM now.”
Outside of work, Jen and her spouse are raising two boys in 7th and 8th grade who stay busy with sports and music. As a family, they enjoy friendly competition through games and sports, exploring new places, and hunting for the best ice cream spots. Personally, Jen loves music, spending time with others, and attending sporting events.
Jen also lives by her personal mission: “to help others be all they were created to be.” She finds inspiration in the words of US college football coach & television analyst, Lou Holtz:
“I follow three rules: Do the right thing, do the best you can, and always show people you care.”
LUM is thrilled to have Jen on the team and looks forward to the energy, experience, and heart she brings to this new role.
