LUM Day for Dads – A Memorable Event

Celebrating Dads at the Ballpark on Father’s Day

This past Sunday was Father’s Day, and it was also the third annual LUM Day for Dads event. Day for Dads is designed to encourage and celebrate fathers who are engaged with their children and families by offering them a day at the ballpark. This year, 69 individuals from 20 families (26 parents & 43 kids) attended the Lafayette Aviators baseball game at Loeb Stadium. In addition to the free game tickets, each dad and their family members received for free — a Day for Dads T-shirt, game ticket, food & drink vouchers, and an Aviators baseball cap. Highlights of the afternoon were seeing an exciting win for the Lafayette Aviators, getting to run the bases after the game, and hearing the announcer thank the LUM dads for “their important role in their children’s lives.“

The participating dads expressed their gratitude for this event and the chance to be with their children. LUM Day for Dads event was made possible by individual donors and corporate sponsors including, The Russell Company, Freckles Graphics & Alan Foord.
