Purdue Crew’s Row-A-Thon — Benefits LUM

Purdue Rowing Team presents “Row-A-Thon 2019” in support of the LUM Good Samaritan Fund. Purdue Crew’s donation to LUM from Row-A-Thon is one of the largest gifts each year. Row-A-Thon takes place all day in the Tippecanoe Mall (Lafayette). The co-ed team members row a marathon of 26 miles in three hours on indoor rowing machines while raising funds for LUM. Stop by the Mall and check it out. Purdue Row-A-Thon 2019 is scheduled for:

  • 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The LUM Good Samaritan Fund is an emergency financial assistance program which provides our community’s neediest families and children with a strong and reliable safety net. Help is offered for utility bills, rent, and prescription medications. In 2018, financial assistance was provided 1,780 times, and $109,784 was shared.

Row-A-Thon 2018 Raises $16,231 for LUM


Purdue Crew Supports LUM Good Samaritan Fund


The Purdue Crew Team raised $16,231 for the LUM Good Samaritan Fundthrough the 9th annual Purdue Row-a-Thon event which took place on February 17 at the local shopping mall. This is the single largest gift to the LUM Good Samaritan Program again this year.

The “big” check was presented to Joe Micon, LUM executive director, last Sunday at their end of the year banquet.

The LUM Good Samaritan Fund provides our community’s neediest families and children with a strong & reliable safety net. Emergency financial assistance is available for utility bills, rent, prescription medications, work clothes, and food. No operating expenses are taken out of this fund. In 2017, assistance was provided through the LUM Good Samaritan Program 2,032 times, totaling $115, 314.

The Purdue Rowing Team brought “Row-A-Thon 2018” to the Tippecanoe Mall (Lafayette) last Saturday — and drew excited crowds with their fun spectacle of rowing. Row-A-Thon is an annual charity event that raises funds for the LUM Good Samaritan Fund.

The Row-A-Thon event yields one of the largest donations to LUM each year — and this year they’re on pace to exceed their goal. Purdue Crew Row-A-Thon Raises $13,150


Purdue Crew donates $13,150 to LUM

At their end of the year banquet, the Purdue Crew Team presented Lafayette Urban Ministry with a check for $13,150 for the LUM Good Samaritan Fund – — a 35% increase over last year’s amount. This is the single largest gift to the LUM Good Samaritan Program each year.

The monies were raised by the Purdue Crew Team members through the eighth annual Purdue Row-a-Thon event which took place on Saturday, February 4 at the Tippecanoe Mall.

The “big” check was presented to Joe Micon, Lafayette Urban Ministry Executive Director, by David Anderle, Purdue Crew Club president and Dave Kucik, Purdue Crew Team Head Coach (pictured above). Last weekend, the Purdue Rowing Team brought “Row-A-Thon 2017” to the Tippecanoe Mall (Lafayette) — and drew excited crowds with their fun spectacle of rowing.

Purdue Crew donates $8,542 to LUM

At a special event this past Monday afternoon at the Purdue Boathouse, representatives from the Purdue Crew Team presented Lafayette Urban Ministry with a check for $8,542 for the LUM Good Samaritan Fund.

The monies were raised by the Purdue Crew Team m2016-03-07 RowAThon_CheckPresentation 010 (2) (1280x1280)embers through the 7th annual Purdue Row-a-Thon event which took place on Saturday, February 6 at the Tippecanoe Mall.

The Purdue Crew Team Row-A-Thon Check Presentation event was hosted by David Kucik, Purdue Crew Team Head Coach. The “big” check was presented to Joe Micon, Executive Director of Lafayette Urban Ministry, by Phill Kuhl, the Purdue Crew Club president.
