Centier Bank Kicks Off “Save the Dough”

Yesterday, Centier Bank kicked off their Summer of Savings and “Save the Dough” program with a celebration on Columbia Street at their branch near the Courthouse. As one of the local agencies benefiting from this program, LUM was invited to participate. Representing LUM at the celebration were Joe Micon, LUM executive director and LUM students—Tamra, Tyra & Tony Bryant.

During the presentation, the Centier Bank president & chairman of the board, Michael Schrage, surprised LUM & the other agencies with a $120 donation to commemorate the Centier’s 120th anniversary.

Remember you too can get involved in “Save the Dough.” The Centier Bank Ball jars are at LUM and ready for your children & grandchildren.

It’s a fun & easy way to help raise dough for LUM—and teach your child some great lessons about money and the importance of saving, spending and giving wisely! Here’s how it works:

  1. Children (12 & younger) pick up their “Save the Dough” Ball jar at the LUM Office
  2. Children will collect and save coins in their Save the Dough Jar
  3. In August the children will bring in jars & use the coin counter to total up their savings
  4. Centier Bank will match a percentage of their savings and give a bonus to the child and a match to LUM (and the three additional local nonprofits)

Stop by the LUM Office (420 N 4th Street, Lafayette), pick up your Save the Dough jars, and get your children excited about participating in “dough at Centier.” Thanks.
