Immigration Forum – Informative

This past Monday, Lafayette Urban Ministry in partnership with the Diocese of Lafayette-in-Indiana sponsored a forum on immigration entitled, Straight Talk Regarding President Obama’s Executive Order on Immigration.

The forum was well attended by a diverse group many of whom were seeking information about a personal immigration matter.

Several of the attendees were from LUM member churches and local agencies as well as elected officials like Indiana State Representative Sheila Klinker. The panel of legal experts (including a representative from the Indiana Attorney General’s Office) offered general information, clarification on the status of the executive order as well as advice on getting through various processes. The forum was hosted and moderated by the director of the LUM Immigration Clinic, Susan Brouillette.
